G.I. Joe Custom Toy Show

May 31 SubUrban Vinyl will become the G.I. Joe event of the year with a custom toy show that involves 30+ of some of the most awesome artists contributing 100+ custom toys.

Based on The Loyal Subjects new G.I. Joe mini figures line, feature detailed sculpting and custom paint work. Here is a list of artists involved below:

In addition to the custom toy show, Hasbro has agreed to lend SubUrban Vinyl props from the G.I. Joe movie, plus a few of their in-house artists to contribute custom toys and artwork. The designer of the GI Joe figures, Les Schettkoe, will also be there opening night party along with Jonathan Cathey of The Loyal Subjects.


Food and drink will be provided. Artists will be in attendance for appearances and signings. The show will be up for viewing at SubUrban for one week. Any custom toys, artwork and apparel unsold at the opening night party will be made available online in the SubUrban Vinyl store.

DC Collectible SDCC Exclusives

DC Collectibles has unveiled their convention-exclusive products that will be offered only to those attending. First up is Super Best Friends Forever Action Figures, Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Girl designed by Lauren Faust and sculpted by Irene Matar are on the way. Measuring approx 6.5”, 5.45” and 6.8” tall the 3 pack is priced at $49.95

Next up is the Aardman Superman Action Figure designed by Rich Webber and sculpted by Phil RamirezHe is based on the popular interstitial shorts shown during DC Nation on Cartoon Network. Aardman: Superman is approximately 6.5” tall and is priced at $24.95.

Funko POP! visits the Planet of the Apes

Funko has released more Pop! Movies vinyl figures into the wild, this time in the Planet of the Apes form.The classic series will include Cornelius, Dr. Zaius, General Ursus and an Ape Soldier.

Teptec Studios is Burnin’ Rubber

“Burnin’ Rubber” is the first in a series of handmade resin collectibles from Teptec Studios. Standing at 3" tall and was designed, sculpted by hand and cast by Daniel Ritthanondh.


In the year 2133 a marauding group of psychotic scumbags, known as “Galactic Scum Society” or “GASS“, ascends from the outskirts of our galaxy. They only have one thing in mind: Bringing us chaos and destruction just for the fun of it! They came for the bang, but they’ll stay for the big KABOOM!


This limited edition will only be produced as long as the original moulds allow it. Cast in solid, extremely durable polyurethane-resin Burnin’ Rubber is bagged and closed with a fitting glossy header.
